PURPOSE OF POSITION
The Registered Nurse/Registered Midwife is responsible and accountable for the provision standards of nursing care determined as appropriate by the nursing service
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
Assess, plan, organise, evaluate and deliver nursing care to a high standard in order to achieve goals for individual clients in accordance with the legal and ethical requirements of the Nurses & Midwives Board of NSW.
Monitor and evaluate the outcomes of nursing care ensuring timely intervention and accurate documentation of patient status, care given and the effects of intervention within established channels of communication, lines of authority and meeting all legal requirements
Employ a planned systematic approach to clinical practice. Act in accordance with and promote the HNEAHS values and NSW Health Code of Conduct, demonstrate a can do approach to the role.
SELECTION CRITERIA
Current New South Wales registration as a Registered Nurse / Registered Midwife
Recent relevant clinical experience
Understanding of employee responsibilities under the Occupational Health & Safety Act.
Understanding of relevant policies and procedures relating to nursing practice as well as legislation common law
Basic computer skills
Ability to work within a team and accept accountability and responsibility for ones actions within the nursing profession
