Epilepsy Educator (Registered Nurse) - Salary: $60,000 - $75,000
at EAA (Anywhere)
About the Organisation
Over 170,000 Australians experience the unpredictable and at times debilitating effect of epilepsy and other seizure disorders. More still have seizures provoked by triggers like sudden high fever or concussion. Meeting their needs is the principle aim of national not-for-profit organisation Epilepsy Action Australia (EAA).
Established in 1952, EAA provides education and support services across Australia for people with epilepsy and seizure disorders, their families and community and professional groups. These services promote self-management and independence for confident living, and help to build understanding of epilepsy in the community. EAA is Australia's only national service provider offering vital and often life saving support and services to an estimated 440,000 Australians who will be affected by epilepsy during their lifetime.
About the Opportunity
Epilepsy Action Australia has a fantastic opportunity for a Registered Nurse to join their Community Service Team as an Epilepsy Educator, based in Epping.
Reporting to the Community Services Team Leader, the primary aims of this role are to provide specialist information and advice regarding epilepsy to clients and customers, and to facilitate group programs for people with epilepsy, their families and professionals. You will also attend outpatient clinics to provide specialist advice, individualised services and referral.
To be successful in this role, you will be currently listed as a Registered Nurse in NSW, and have a minimum of 4 years practical experience. A Certificate IV in Workplace Assessment & Training is desirable.
It would be an advantage, but is not essential, to have strong knowledge or lengthy experience in epilepsy or neurology. EAA will provide a comprehensive induction and training program so that you develop an expertise in epilepsy, including participation in an EAA Community of Practice forum every second month.
You will be rewarded for your hard work and dedication with a highly attractive salary package negotiable based on experience and qualifications, ranging from $60,000 - $75,000 (includes Flexible Remuneration Packaging and superannuation). Generous salary packaging options, up to $16,050 pro rata per annum are available, with 100% of the benefit going to the employee. This salary packaging has the potential to significantly increase your take-home pay.
A fully serviced vehicle will also be made available.
If you are a dedicated Health Professional wanting to make a positive contribution to the community in a dynamic, evolving organisation, this is the role for you! Apply Now!
