Sunnyfield is recognised as an industry leader and currently has outstanding opportunities for a Registered Nurse (Monday to Friday) and FOUR Medication Endorsed Enrolled Nurses (rotating roster) in four new Group Homes within the Housing and Support Division on the Central Coast.
You will have a person centred attitude and approach with the emphasis on maintaining quality standards combined with demonstrated experience working with people with disabilities and their families at all levels. A current NSW drivers licence is required for all roles.
We currently have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Registered Nurse to help manage our four new Group Homes on the Central Coast, in conjunction with a Service Manager who has responsibility for the operational component. This role is to ensure the provision of high level quality health care, pursuit of person centred health planning and individual outcomes for all people we support.
The essence of the role is to:
Provide a high level of proactive nursing care to people we support, using current evidence based practice
Ensure people we support have their health needs identified and any deterioration in their health status is identified and acted upon
Support staff of the houses sites with high quality health advice
Ensure people we support have access to high quality medical care if needed
Essential:
Relevant degree or equivalent to enable registration as a Registered Nurse with the Nurses and Midwives Board of NSW
Demonstrated experience in:
Disability care (recent experience)
Ability to base nursing practice on current evidence
Ability to motivate staff and provide clear directives to staff
Modelling appropriate behaviour at all times in the workplace
Ability to liaise effectively with families and staff
Working knowledge of DSS and DSA
Sound report writing skills
Current NSW driving licence
Desirable:
Experience in palliative care
Post graduate qualifications in disability and palliative care.
We also have an outstanding opportunity for four Medication Endorsed Enrolled Nurses (Assistant Managers) who will support the Registered Nurse to provide a high level of health care to our people we support. Working under the supervision and guidance of the RN you will be providing clinical care and support to the people we support and supporting the work of direct care staff to ensure a high standard and safe level of care.
Essential:
Enrolled Nurse (Medication endorsed), enrolled on NSW Nurses and Midwife Board
Experience in disability care
Current Senior First Aid Certificate within three (3) months of commencement
Current NSW driving licence.
Desirable:
Experience in working with people with disabilities and their families
Demonstrated understanding of cerebral palsy and allied neurological conditions and the potential impact on those involved
Knowledge of Disability Services Act (NSW) and Disability Services Standards and implications for service delivery
Palliative care experience
