The Renal Service provides a comprehensive suite of services ranging from pre-dialysis education and management, acute and maintenance dialysis, education and support for home dialysis, training and research opportunities and has plans for continued expansion of services over the next 5 years. As a result the following opportunity is available:
Nurse Unit Manager
Dialysis Unit, Sunshine Hospital
We are seeking a dynamic, experienced nursing professional to join our renal service and undertake the leadership and management our 15-chair satellite haemodialysis unit at Sunshine Hospital for a 17 week long service leave replacement position. The successful applicant will have demonstrated leadership skills, management experience and a commitment to quality service provision.
The Nurse Unit Manager is responsible for the provision and coordination of high quality patient-focused nursing care within the unit through effective leadership, management of staff and other resources, and the development of cooperative professional relationships.
You will:
o Be a registered Nurse, Division 1, possessing a current Victorian practicing certificate
o Hold a relevant tertiary management qualification or working towards same
o Have at least five years postgraduate clinical experience
o Have experience and qualifications in haemodialysis nursing
o Demonstrate communication and conflict resolution skills.
o Demonstrate the ability to establish and monitor standards, guidelines and principles in relation to the responsibilities of the position
o Be able to prepare and monitor budgets, reports and correspondence
o Hold a current Victorian driver’s licence.

o Set clear service goals and provide regular feedback and support
